Much has changed since 2008 when the first edition of this book was published. The pub heritage officers of two of CAMRA’s London branches, Neil Pettigrew (South East London) and Rex Ward (South West London) have combined to produce this revised edition, managing to retain the style of Jane Jephcote and Geoff Brandwood’s original while ensuring that all of the information is up to date. Unlike the Good Beer Guide, this is not a guide that focuses on beer quality; this is all about the pubs themselves, in particular their historically important interiors. It covers 249 pubs and is illustrated throughout with top quality colour photographs. It also contains a number of explanatory articles and features, such as a profile of the architect, T H Nowell Parr. There is also a comprehensive listing of the changes in entries between the two editions. If you like traditional pubs, then this book is an essential companion. It is available on-line from CAMRA Books . The cover price is £8.99, with a discount for CAMRA members. A4 size 216 pages. ISBN 978-1-85249-398-1.
