Neil Kellett, whom I had the pleasure to know, was one of CAMRA’s earliest members and helped found the Stockport and South Manchester branch. He was an accountant and became the Campaign’s first auditor, in which capacity he made a significant contribution to the Campaign by improving its accounting systems, thus making it financially efficient and keeping it solvent. Neil was also one of the founders of the CAMRA Member’s Investment Club. Born in Cheadle Hulme, he was a Manchester City season ticket holder and a great cricket fan. He was also the very best of company. Roger Protz has written an excellent tribute to Neil which can be found here.
