All aboard

On Saturday 19 October, members of CAMRA’s West London branch were invited by Fuller’s to the Admiralty, their flagship pub on Trafalgar Square (WC2N 5DS), for the launch of a collaboration brew with Sambrook’s of Wandsworth. The beer, a spicy, warming amber ale (4.6% ABV), is called Immortal Toast, in homage to Lord Nelson and Trafalgar Day. In addition to the Admiralty, this small batch brew is available in a select number of Fuller’s other pubs, including some in Portsmouth.

To accompany the beer, mini-versions of Trafalgar Pie were served. These are made to a delicious recipe of melt-in-the mouth beef, cooked with shallots, mushrooms and port. The larger version of the pie will be on the regular menu with 50 pence from each sale being donated to the Royal Navy and Royal Marines charity. Many thanks to Helen Wilson, the manager of the Admiralty, for the hospitality.
