Glen passed away on 11 September, aged 78, following complications arising from a fall. He had been afflicted by Sciatica for some time and had also recently been diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer. His involvement in CAMRA goes back to the 1970s. In more recent years he helped on the admissions stand at Ealing Beer Festival and assisted LAGERCAN with clearing litter. He volunteered as an usher at Questors Theatre as well as stuffing envelopes with details of forthcoming shows and he would often be found in the Grapevine bar where he was very good company. He was ward Councillor for Heathfield (now South Acton) from 1971 to 1990, and was narrowly defeated when he stood for parliament in October 1974. He remained active with the local Labour Party and Co-operative movement. Until retirement he was an officer for the actors union Equity and was responsible for the talent agreements with the BBC. He supported many charities, schools, committees and other not-for-profit organisations over the decades and recently he chaired the Marr-Munning Trust, an international development charity. Glen was a trustee of Acton (Middlesex) Charities and a committee member of the friends of Gunnersbury Park and Museum. The funeral took place at Mortlake Crematorium on 10 October. It was a full house with standing room only. As well as representatives of the above organisations, members of beer groups the Ring and the Campaign for Authentic Lager (CAMAL), of which he was going to chair, were also present.
