Green hop beers
I am fortunate to now spend a considerable time in Broadstairs and other parts of the Isle of Thanet (and here I must mention a staggeringly good pub, the Royston by Broadstairs station CT10 2AD). I want to raise the (mainly) Kent phenomenon of green hop beers. This started roughly ten or so years ago and has grown exponentially since. Virtually every brewery in Kent now produces a green hop beer,
brewed, as I understand it, with hops picked and used within one day. A few other breweries have recently joined the club and Green Hopped, from the Hop Back brewery for example, is a beer of beauty! These beers are astonishingly good and I wondered what other readers thought? Should CAMRA perhaps include them as a separate, albeit seasonal, style?
