Tribute – Gerry Dolan

We wish to offer our condolences to the family and friends of Gerry Dolan who, for many years, was the landlord of the Grade II-listed McGlynn’s in Whidbourne Street, St Pancras. McGlynn’s is a pleasant Irish pub in a quiet side street which you might not expect to do real ale but usually has up to three regular beers from Southwark Brewing Company.

Gerry worked on the buses in Dublin before becoming a prison officer. He took on McGlynn’s in the 1990s. A funeral mass was held at St Aloysius Church in Eversholt Street on 1 September. The pub closed on 7 September while arrangements are made for its future operation.
