{"id":6623,"date":"2026-09-29T17:57:33","date_gmt":"2026-09-29T17:57:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/londondrinker.camra.org.uk\/wordpress\/?p=6623"},"modified":"2026-09-29T17:57:33","modified_gmt":"2026-09-29T17:57:33","slug":"george-answers-all","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/londondrinker.camra.org.uk\/wordpress\/index.php\/2026\/09\/29\/george-answers-all\/","title":{"rendered":"George answers all!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apart from a six-year stint with Domino\u2019s Pizza, Georgina Wald has been with Fuller\u2019s for almost 25 years, although she has been in the licensed retail sector far longer. &nbsp;She began her love affair with the sector in 1995 when she started as a journalist on the <em>Publican<\/em> newspaper, followed by a role at the BII (British Institute of Innkeeping) before joining Fuller\u2019s in 2002.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">George, as she is usually called, took time out of her busy schedule to do a question and answer session at CAMRA North London Branch\u2019s AGM on 21 July. &nbsp;The questions covered a whole range of topics, not least why the family sold Fuller\u2019s Griffin Brewery to Asahi. &nbsp;George explained that this was a tough decision, and one that the board agonised over, but the reason was to safeguard Fuller\u2019s future. &nbsp;The board chose to approach Asahi as they believed that the Japanese brewers had the commitment to continue brewing in Chiswick. &nbsp;George added, \u201c<em>the Fuller\u2019s pub company have a long-term supply agreement with Asahi and London Pride is still a highly popular brand across Fuller\u2019s pubs<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"762\" height=\"974\" src=\"https:\/\/londondrinker.camra.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-10.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6624\" srcset=\"https:\/\/londondrinker.camra.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-10.png 762w, https:\/\/londondrinker.camra.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/image-10-235x300.png 235w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 762px) 100vw, 762px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"> George (right) celebrating winning Champion Beer of London 2017<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whether a pub sells only Fuller\u2019s beers varies from pub to pub. \u00a0\u201c<em>In total, in 2025, the pub company sold 125 different cask beers.
