He was a true CAMRA stalwart and his colleagues in Bexley branch paid tribute to him as one of the driving forces behind successive, successful Bexley Beer Festivals. He was also involved as a cellarman at a number of other CAMRA festivals, including the much-missed Kent Beer Festival in Canterbury. He also represented the branch at regional meetings.
Peter was also well known locally for his work in hospice charity shops in North Heath and Welling. His funeral is being held on 27 November at Eltham crematorium. The wake, fittingly, is at the Dartfordians Club, the home of the Bexley Beer Festival in recent years. Peter was widely regarded as one of the nicest men you could wish to meet. He will be missed.
Bexley Branch

Further to this tribute, it has been explained to me that the logo for this year’s Bexley Beer Festival pays homage to Peter. It features his favourite green jumper (sometimes it was a grey one, both usually with holes!) and his love of vinyl records. The white horse, Invicta, is the symbol of Kent, saluting his service to CAMRA in the county.
