Following their decision to close their brewery at Hackney Wick earlier this year and not, as originally planned, build a replacement on their new site at Walthamstow, their beers are being brewed under contract. The flagship Walthamstow site becomes the Big Penny Social and will continue much as before. With its 1,400 capacity, the company claim that it is the biggest beer hall in the UK. The bar at London City Airport will change its name from Brick Lane Brews to Big Penny Brews while their pub, the Newman Arms<\/a> in Fitzrovia, is for sale. One of the founders, Michael-George Hemus, remains involved and told the Morning Advertiser, \u201cNow the rebrand is completed, we will continue in our aim to further improve and develop our retail estate, in line with our vision to create special community-focused venues, which bring people together to enjoy elevated experiences.
