{"id":2698,"date":"2022-05-25T10:04:09","date_gmt":"2022-05-25T10:04:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/londondrinker.camra.org.uk\/wordpress\/?p=2698"},"modified":"2022-05-25T10:04:11","modified_gmt":"2022-05-25T10:04:11","slug":"pubs-of-the-year-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/londondrinker.camra.org.uk\/wordpress\/index.php\/2022\/05\/25\/pubs-of-the-year-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Pubs of the Year 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The CAMRA Greater London regional Pub of the Year competition returns to its usual spring timetable this year, with the 13 local branch Pubs of the Year for 2022 due for careful unannounced visits from the judging teams from each branch no later than early July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The branch winners this year include six micropubs and several entries that are new to the regional competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bexley: The Long Haul, 149 Long Lane, Bexleyheath DA7 5AE<br>Bromley: The One Inn the Wood, 209 Petts Wood Road BR5 1LA<br>Croydon &amp; Sutton: The Hope, 48 West Street, Carshalton SM5 2PR<br>East London &amp; City: The Olde Rose &amp; Crown, 53 Hoe Street, Walthamstow E17 4SA<br>Enfield &amp; Barnet: The Little Green Dragon, 928 Green Lanes, Winchmore Hill N21 2AD<br>Kingston &amp; Leatherhead: The Wych Elm, 93 Elm Road, Kingston KT2 6LN<br>North London: The Queen\u2019s Head, 66 Acton Street, King\u2019s Cross WC1X 9NB<br>Richmond &amp; Hounslow: The Jolly Coopers, 16 High Street, Hampton TW12 2SJ<br>South East London: The River Ale House, 131 Woolwich Road, Greenwich SE10 0RJ<br>South West Essex: The Hop Inn, 122 North Street, Hornchurch RM11 1SU<br>South West London: The Eagle Ale House, 104 Chatham Road, Battersea SW11 6HG<br>West London: The Carlton Tavern, 33a Carlton Vale, Kilburn NW6 5EU<br>West Middlesex: The Owl &amp; The Pussycat, 106 Northfield Avenue W13 9RT<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winner will go through to the super-regional round of the national competition from which four finalists will emerge from the 16 regional entries, one of which will become CAMRA\u2019s National Pub of the Year. The following categories and weightings duly reflect greater emphasis on hygiene in the context of continuing precautions against Covid spread, as well as appropriate zeal for real ale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quality and condition of real ale\/cider\/perry x2<br>Promotion and knowledge of real ale x2<br>Cleanliness and staff hygiene x2<br>Community focus and atmosphere x2<br>Service, welcome and offering x1<br>Style, d\u00e9cor and furnishing x1<br>Sympathy with CAMRA aims x1<br>Overall impression and value x1<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All members looking for excuses to visit the pick of our pubs from right across the region are invited to contact their branches to join in the comparative judging exercise.
