THE FAMILY BREWERS OF BRITAIN<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Congratulations to Roger Protz for winning the Gold Award for \u2018Best Beer Writer, Print Publications\u2019 for the Family Brewers of Britain at the British Guild of Beer Writers annual awards in December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roger\u2019s seminal work is now available on Amazon Kindle. You can download it using the Kindle \u2018app\u2019 or through Amazon for \u00a39.99. The hardback version is still available from the CAMRA Shop on-line<\/a> currently for \u00a321.99. It is well recommended. The photographs alone make the printed version the better option in my view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RECOGNITION FOR LEARN & DISCOVER<\/strong>

CAMRA\u2019s Learn & Discover web platform was also shortlisted for the British Guild of Beer Writers awards, in their case in the \u2018Best Beer Writer \u2013 Corporate Communications\u2019 category. There is a wealth of knowledge available here<\/a>. L&D didn\u2019t win but I\u2019m pleased to say that the winner was London\u2019s Brixton Brewery for their Characters of Coldharbour campaign. You can find more about this on their website<\/a>. It is also well worth a look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LONDON\u2019S BEST BEER, PUBS & BARS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Des de Moor\u2019s revision of the above is now, inevitably, on hold. Des wrote a fascinating article in January\u2019s edition of the CAMRA paper, What\u2019s Brewing, reflecting on the changes that he has observed, both between the last edition in 2015 and a year ago, when he had almost finished the revision, and what has happened since. OTHER WINNERS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since I\u2019ve mentioned the BGBW awards several times, I\u2019ll finish the job by also congratulating Jaega Wise of the Wild Card Brewery in Walthamstow for winning the Gold Award in the Best Beer Broadcaster category for her contributions to BBC Radio Four\u2019s the Food Programme. The overall award, the Michael Jackson Gold Award for Beer Writer of the Year 2020, went to Lily Waite who won a gold and two silvers in different categories.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
